Simply add the ingredients to a medium pot or dutch oven, add water, and let simmer on low to fill your house with the most incredible, autumnal scent.

You can keep you Autumn Simmer Pot on the stove all day long if you like! Just remember to keep adding water to prevent the ingredients from burning, and never leave the house while it’s simmering on the stovetop.

Makes one simmer pot

Ingredients:

  • peel from one orange

  • 1/2 apple, sliced

  • 2 springs rosemary

  • 2 inches ginger, sliced

  • 2-4 star anise

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom

  • 1 tsp whole cloves

To make:

  1. Add all ingredients to a medium pot or dutch oven. Add around 4 inches of water to the pot. Place on the stove and bring to a simmer over low heat.

  2. Let simmer for several hours, refilling with water as needed. Enjoy!! Note: For safety reasons, please never leave your simmer pot unattended for long periods of time. I like to set a timer to go off every half hour to remind me to check and refill my simmer pot.
